V-Day, It doesn't control us...

V-Day, It doesn't control us...

For the rest of the human race, V-day was this past Saturday.  I hope all you love birds had a great one with your significant others doing whatever your throbbing hearts desired.  Me?  I had a nice big bowl of mac 'n cheese.  Now, now don't feel too bad for me.  I neglected to mention that it was truffle mac 'n cheese shared with a friend at a very hip and trendy little restaurant (and it was Deeelicious by the way!).  But please notice, I shared with a "friend" and no, not the illusive boyfriend I commonly speak of.  He was working, as he does every weekend night being in the restaurant biz.  So Valentine's day did not occur for us on the actual assigned "Valentines Day".  But I say who assigned this date?  Who said it has to be the 14th, work or no work? Good weather or bad weather?  Reservations or no reservations?  Well I for one decided this year I would not let Valentines Day dictate my life, and so my boyfriend and I have rescheduled it.  It is now this Sunday, the 22nd, so feel free to participate if you'd like.  If your first Valentines Day wasn't what you envisioned, hell have another!  Do it till you get it right!  Why must every couple in the world fight over this one single day of the year.  We drive restaurants, jewelry stores and flower shops nuts trying to make this particular day special.  Is tomorrow not as good?  What was wrong with yesterday?  So that's what we are doing, moving the day of love to a day off for the both of us.  I will be sure to let you know how it goes.  Take that February 14th!  You're not the boss of me.

;)
